The world entered the new decade with great enthusiasm and motivation. Many resolutions were made including a healthy lifestyle, daily workout, yoga, something for gastronomy and to work some general skills like cooking, drawings, arts, etc. Some of the resolutions were to explore new places, to do some adventures. A traveler wanted to explore the world, a scientist wanted to live in and around nature for research, a therapist wanted to come out of his sphere to observe behavioral changes in the different genome, a businessman wanted to expand his business all over the world, an archaeologist wanted to dig hard, a mother wanted to introduce her children to social norms, a sportsperson was practicing hard for the upcoming games for which arrangements were being made and millions have been spent by the host.
These are only some of the examples. There are many other people from different people who have decided ways to what to do in 2020.
Perhaps everyone was unaware of the fact that 2020 would not be treating them the way they wanted. The year came with its own different terms and conditions. The conditions that changed almost everything not only across the country but all over the world. Even the basic lifestyle of people got affected. This will not be absurd to say that 2020 is an exceptional year.
With due course of time, the situation has become worse. The virus, COVID-19 has totally changed the basic lifestyle of human beings. Now we are in the middle of this just trying to defeat this. Everyone, no matter the class, profession, race, or sex, is quarantined in their home. From a billionaire to the laborers every one is bound to four walls of their homes. No schools, colleges, offices, public and private sector is allowed to work. Everything is just shut down. Only the health sector, sanitation department, police, and essential services are allowed to practice. We cannot be more grateful to them for all those who are working in front lines at this scariest of time, providing the best of their facilities.
The world is at its great loss. looking at the statistical data this can be determined that there will be a financial crisis. Moreover, this is also believed that there will be a recession for sure. this time the govt is in need of capital to spend on the health sector, to carry the researches and to supply food for the people, also for the migration of the workers to their native place.
Since everything is shut down there is no tax for the govt. therefore, the government is facing financial problems along with the battle with the pandemic.
On ground levels , the poor section is getting affected the most. Daily wages workers, laborers, plumbers, miners, carpenters, shopkeepers, cobblers, street vendors, and hawkers suffered the most. as they are the ones who live on their daily earnings. So at this time, there is no work for them and hence no money and no food. They are literally devoid of basic needs of life such as food and shelter. pictures are getting viral in which the migrants are walking miles to reach their native places, as they feel there is no hope for their survival here. they are ready to cover the distance of 500-600 kilometres on foot with women and children. these people cannot even afford to have single meal for the day. this section of the society is the one which is worsely affected.
People who belong to the middle class of society have a great impact of this pandemic. According to report cases of anxiety and suicide has increased amid lockdown. everyone is aware of the fact that there were already unemployment and people were struggling to earn their livings. now, due to the slow down many companies fired their employees and are not paying their dues. this is not just affect the current situation but the coming days will not be much good for them. a report stated that there was a maximum search for stress, anxiety, and recipes amid lockdown. This shows how people are dealing with staying their homes, stressed, and unhappy.
Behavioral changes are observed among children which is not good for their mental and physical health. in this age of playing, socializing, and developing personality they are restricted to their homes with electronic gadgets in it.
Every country is trying their best to fight against this pandemic. different strategies are adopted by countries to solve the problem. even after doing so much, the situation is not under control.
Least we can do is maintain social distances. Social distancing must be a new normal in our lives. Also, this should be made compulsory for everyone to wear a mask. People above age 50 and children should not be allowed to go outside till there is no vaccine, as they get the infection because of low immunity. People should go out only when it is necessary. there should not be any unnecessary outing.
The government should create an online platform to create awareness. There should be online campaigning. Also, the government should come with several schemes to avoid unemployment.
this pandemic is a lesson for all countries that there is a need to work on the health and research department. Proper funds should be provided for their improvement. education should be provided via online platforms. We, as a citizen should make sure that not a single individual sleep hungry.
One thing that everyone should remember is we are in together. We will fight against it together. We should do every possible thing on our own when it comes to helping others. We are human beings. We should help every single life around us. we have to keep faith that everything is going to be fine. we will go through this together. Only we can make this place worth living.
